Day 38: Rakhna Kahan Hai?
Furniture arrangement — traffic flow aur balance ka vigyan!

📖 The Musical Chairs Experiment...
Shweta ka living room "didn't feel right" for 2 years. She'd tried 5 different furniture arrangements and nothing worked. One day, she watched a YouTube video about furniture arrangement principles.
She rearranged in 2 hours — WITHOUT buying anything new. The room was transformed. Friends thought she'd renovated!
Furniture arrangement ek skill hai — ek baar seekh lo, ghar kabhi "wrong" nahi lagega!

The 5 Furniture Arrangement Principles
Principle 1: Create Conversation Zones
💡 The "10-Foot Rule":
Comfortable conversation happens when people are within 8–10 feet of each other. If your sofa and chairs are 15 feet apart, people shout across the room! Living room should create intimacy — pull seating together, not scatter it against walls (the "waiting room" look!).

Principle 2: Anchor with a Rug
Every seating group needs a rug to "ground" it. Rug sizing rule: All main furniture legs should be on the rug, OR all legs off the rug, OR just front legs on. Worst: Some legs on, some halfway, some off — looks accidental and messy.
Principle 3: Define Traffic Flow
📐 Traffic Path Rules:
Primary path (main walkway): 36 inches minimum (90 cm)
Secondary paths: 24 inches minimum (60 cm)
Around dining chairs (when seated): 36 inches behind
Between sofa and coffee table: 18 inches (comfortable reach)
Before finalizing arrangement: Walk through ALL paths. If you bump into anything — rearrange!

Principle 4: Balance the Room Visually
Every large piece needs visual "counterbalance" on the other side. Large sofa on one wall = need visual weight (bookshelf, artwork, plants) on opposite wall. If one side heavy, other side empty = room tips over visually!
Principle 5: Face the Focal Point
All seating should face OR have a clear sightline to the room's focal point (TV, fireplace, feature wall, view). Sofa facing a blank wall = missed opportunity!
Common Arrangement Mistakes
⚠️ Top 5 Furniture Arrangement Mistakes:
1. "All against the walls" layout — makes room feel hollow and formal
2. Oversized furniture in small rooms — one large piece blocking all traffic
3. TV too high — above eye level causes neck strain (ideal: screen center at eye level when seated)
4. No rug — seating floats, ungrounded
5. Blocking windows with furniture — natural light blocked, biggest crime! 😤

🌟 The Free Rearrangement Exercise:
Before spending a rupee: try 3 completely different furniture arrangements in your living room. Just move what you have. Take photos of each. Leave each for 2–3 days and see how it feels to live in. Most people are shocked at how dramatically different the same furniture feels in different configurations! The best arrangement is free — it's just knowledge! 📐
