📖 Sam Opens Zerodha for the First Time
Sam's friend Ben had been going on about stocks for months. Sam finally downloaded Zerodha. He opened Infosys. He saw:
₹1,523.40 ▲ +12.50 (+0.83%) | 52W: ₹1,221 — ₹1,841 | P/E: 26.4 | EPS: ₹57.7 | Mkt Cap: ₹6.32L Cr | Vol: 24.7L
Sam closed the app and made tea instead.
After today's lesson, every single number on that screen will make complete sense. 🎯

52-Week High/Low — Why It Matters
Stock at its 52-week HIGH → May be expensive, or in strong uptrend. Look carefully before buying.
Stock at its 52-week LOW → Could be cheap, or could be fundamentally broken. Research before buying.
A stock breaking above its 52-week high = bullish breakout — often precedes further rise.
A stock falling to a new 52-week low = red flag — find out why before even considering.
Stock at its 52-week LOW → Could be cheap, or could be fundamentally broken. Research before buying.

A stock falling to a new 52-week low = red flag — find out why before even considering.
Circuit Limits — Upper & Lower
🟢 Upper Circuit
Stock hits maximum daily gain allowed (5%, 10%, or 20%). Trading freezes. Too many buyers, not enough sellers. Often seen in small-cap stocks with big news.
🔴 Lower Circuit
Stock hits maximum daily loss allowed. Trading freezes. Too many sellers, not enough buyers. Avoid stocks in consecutive lower circuits!
🎉 The Most Important Number Nobody Looks At: Volume!
Volume = how many shares traded today. Low volume = weak move, could reverse. High volume = strong move, likely to continue. A stock going up 5% on low volume? Ignore it. A stock going up 5% on 10x normal volume? Now that's interesting! Volume is the market's "conviction meter." 📊

🎯 Today's Takeaway:
LTP = current price. 52-week range shows recent trading bounds. Volume = conviction. P/E and EPS are fundamental metrics (we'll deep-dive later). Circuit limits protect against extreme single-day moves. Now you can read a stock quote without panicking! Tomorrow: We open a Demat account!
